Combine the luxurious comfort of the Castle Hotel with an exciting, yet relaxing day at
Hagley Bridge Farm where you will learn the art of making dairy products. What better
place to learn than the home of the most famous cheese of them all - Cheddar? Cheddar cheese originated in Somerset more than 500 years ago and some of the best cheese is
still made on farms in the West Country.
Arrive at The Castle Hotel and enjoy a three-course dinner in our award winning restaurant.
The following morning, after breakfast, make your way to Hagley Bridge
Farm, nestled next to the River Tone in a hidden Somerset valley surrounded by awe inspiring
Exmoor landscape.
The Dairy School is run by Alison Gibbs who has a long history in making dairy products. Alison
believes the best way to learn is hands-on, so be prepared to roll up your sleeves and get stuck
in! Alison will be there to gently guide you step by step through the art of cheese making. It
won·t all be hard work though, there will be a hearty farmhouse lunch and a chance to sample
some of the best locally produced cheeses.
The course is intended to be relaxed, informative and fun. At the end of the day you will have
some cheese, butter and clotted cream to take home to your family and friends. When they ask
where you got it, you can proudly say "I made it".
Overnight accommodation, three-course dinner with coffee and homemade sweets, an
award winning English breakfast and a day at Hagley Bridge Farm Dairy School with
lunch. £265.00 per person |
