At the Castle we believe in procuring the finest quality ingredients in order to ensure that we can serve food which is a real experience. We also take great pride in sourcing virtually everything from England's finest larder: the South West.
From traditional suppliers to entrepreneurial newcomers this region now offers an unrivalled selection of the finest speciality food and drink.
Steve at S&C Meats in Taunton sends us beef from the legendary Ruby Red Devon cattle. The fine marbling of the meat ensures that it cooks to melting perfection.
Phil Bowditch, our fish merchant runs his own trawler out of Brixham and his catches are delivered to our door ocean fresh.
Vegetables, salads, fruits and herbs are provided by John Rowswell who provides marvellous chemical-free produce from his market garden near Ilminster.
Our brown bread is made using flour from organic English wheat, stone-ground just 30 miles from an original working water mill at Burcott, near Wells.
These are just a small selection of our local suppliers who all assist Head Chef, Richard Guest, in his preparation of bold, innovative, mouth watering dishes.
