Salary up to £21,000 per annum
The Castle at Taunton is located in the heart of Somerset, in England's beautiful West Country.
Run by the Chapman family for more than 60 years, during this time the hotel has earned a reputation for the warmth of its hospitality and we now seek a new member of the management team to continue to drive these standards.
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader who is well organised and prides themselves on attention to detail. You must be passionate about the hotel industry, able to motivate a team, have a strong guest focus and a desire to drive sales. Previous experience in a similar role is essential and knowledge of Micros Fidelio is beneficial.
As a Front Office Manager your key responsibilities will include:
• Managing the Front Office operation
• Recruiting, training and motivating a Front Office team
• Anticipating guest needs and exceeding them
• Improving productivity and quality of service
• Driving sales throughout all departments of the hotel
• Controlling departmental costs
Must be flexible. Minimum of two shifts per week, but will be required to work additional shifts as needed.
This position requires a friendly, pleasant and hard working individual to work on a busy reception desk dealing with guest queries, processing reservations and checking guests in and out of the hotel. Previous hotel reception experience along with a knowledge of Opera is preferable, however, an excellent understanding of the English language, both written and spoken, is required.

The Restaurant Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that every guest receives a warm and professional welcome; have a proven track record of food service and a good working knowledge of wine & spirits.
You must be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills, high standards of personal and department presentation and enjoy working as part of a team.
Attention to detail in all areas of the operation is paramount, from the start of the meal to the well-presented and accurate bill as guests leave your care.
You will ensure that every breakfast, lunch and dinner in the hotel is a memorable and pleasurable experience that will match the reputation that The Castle at Taunton upholds.
As guest and colleague interaction is at the heart of everything that we do, excellent spoken and written communication is essential.
Previous restaurant experience in a similar 4 star environment is preferred together with industry relevant qualifications. Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
