Our Chefs handpick their suppliers and foods from top quality producers in the region.
Our meat is from J&A Gibbins of Exeter, a family run butchers for over 150 years, and our dairy products are from Longman’s Dairy in Yeovil, Somerset. We also highlight artisan cheeses from Somerset & Devon as well as grow our own herbs in The Castle’s Norman garden.
The pride and craftsmanship of our ingredients and the final plates that The Castle’s kitchen produces, shines through in every mouthful. We are so passionate about our food, that some of the best chefs in Britain have been inspired whilst working with us. Our string of successful chefs includes Gary Rhodes & Phil Vickery.
Today, Liam Finnegan, who previously worked under Michael Caines at Gidleigh Park and Bath Priory, heads The Castle’s kitchens with his highly experienced team.
Our breakfast chef, Gerry Barge, has been with us for more than 40 years and makes all of The Castle’s jams and preserves. If you ask, he will make one for you to take home!
